Project Description

Mastic Asphalt

Description:

53 Marine Parade is a Grade II listed building, formerly owned by Captain Henry Hill in the late 19th century. Captain Henry Hill was a collector of paintings, in particular those of Edgar Degas, which he stored in galleries the back end of the property directly under one of the areas we re-roofed. The 128m2 Roofing area is situated over three large ground level rooms out the back of the three-story property. The further most roofing over the gallery includes a giant roof lantern custom made of lead and curved glass potentially over 100 years old.

Previously the roof was un-insulated, so we had to work out how to improve on the thermal qualities of the roof without compromising the waterproofing around the details.
