Sussex Asphalte scoops another roofing award!

Sussex Asphalte celebrates scooping another prestigious national roofing award at the UK Roofing Awards 2019 for our work on one of London’s most iconic buildings – St Pauls Cathedral.

Sussex Asphalte renewed the existing asphalt to St Paul’s Cathedral North Courtyard, replacing the existing 500m² asphalt. Due to water ingress effecting workshops and storage facilities, supplying recreational duty asphalt with added granite.

For the second year running Sussex Asphalte wins at the UK Roofing Awards for renewing and reusing the asphalt from our previous years works on the North Courtyard. Approximately twenty tonnes of asphalt was saved from last years project to renew the stone gallery, it was stored on site for nine months being re-melted, sieved and used as the first layer of waterproofing to the North Courtyard. Mastic Asphalt provided 111 years of weather proof protection before it needed refurbishment therefore it was the best option for durability, performance and the best way to conserve one of the most important architectural structures in the UK.

We are extremely proud to be in our 71st year of continuously trading and honoured to work on such admired and esteemed buildings carrying out what we do best!

Further details on the project including additional images can be found in the case studies section of our website.
