Netherton Farm House is a Grade II listed residential property built in the early 18th Century. Sussex Asphalte were employed to install a new two layer Permaphalt mastic asphalt waterproofing to the crown roof of the property as part of the ongoing wider refurbishment works. Works were overseen throughout by the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with the listed status was upheld. Working closely with the main contractor allowed us to ensure that any enabling works were undertaken in a timely manner. A temporary roof was utilised to ensure sufficient protection of the existing building and allow works to continue during periods of poor or inclement weather Haki staircase access was provided for easy access to the roof area.
Due to the clients tight programme for the works, and to avoid delaying following trades, we were required to undertake all works in a swift and timely manner, ensuring that any delays, where possible, were recouped ensuring the completion date remained unaffected. This meant works had to be planned meticulously to ensure all requirements were considered and readily available to operatives. We used the temporary roof cover to our advantage as, due to the late arrival of a roof hatch, we had to setback our asphalt in the marked void area, fitting the hatch on our final day when it arrived. Our operatives worked additional hours to ensure the project remained on schedule and, as a result, all works were completed in 9 days.
