Description:

The project included 40 almost identical balconies for a large block of flats in Shoreham across quite a busy road. The challenges of this project included generating a fall within a small surface area especially as the upstands were very low. On certain balconies the new asphalt had to be joined in to the existing asphalt of a canopy.

The existing coverings were stripped back to concrete slabs and mastic asphalt was laid in two sometimes three coats as to make sure to cover the top of the railing plates providing a 20 year guarantee. Mastic Asphalt was by far the best option for performance, durability and to create falls to drain water on surface.
