Reinforced Bitumen Membrane (Built Up Felt)

Description:

A residential 1960’s block of flats in Goring-by-Sea West Sussex required a new waterproofing system due to the deterioration of the existing felt system which was delaminating and experiencing water ingress.

Sussex Asphalte stripped out the existing roof system, installed a new plywood deck followed by a Proteus BUR Felt System without allowing water ingress into the residents’ accommodation below.

The application of Proteus Waterproofing’s Pro-Felt built up roof system by Sussex Asphalte extended the lifespan of the roof by a further 20 years whilst offering total safety, minimal disruption and noise.

Health and safety Working on occupied buildings, safety is always of utmost importance. The Proteus BUR felt system incorporated a Self-Adhesive Vapour Barrier, 120mm of Proteus ProTherm insulation bonded in cold adhesive followed by Pro-Felt Self-Adhesive Heat activated Underlay. This was finished with the Proteus Torch on Cap sheet. This system reduced the risk of fire when installed.
