Harvey’s Brewery, East Sussex 2020-03-06T15:08:22+00:00

Project Description

Installation:

Cold Applied Liquid

Description:

With two roofs on the Grade II Listed Harvey’s Brewery building requiring replacement, Proteus Waterproofing was used to provide a fast, reliable and high quality solution. For a new roof system with a similar aesthetic to the existing asphalt, 150m2 of Pro-System membrane was cold-applied in just three days as part of a new timber composite decking system.

Due to the historical importance of the building and complex nature of the roofs, Sussex Asphalte worked in close partnership with Proteus Waterproofing to successfully deliver the project to a very high standard without any disruption to the brewery’s operations.

Working on occupied buildings, safety is always of utmost importance. Proteus’ liquid applied systems are cold installed and met all health and safety criteria to work on these occupied buildings and minimise risk of fire. With the buildings used for food preparation, the low odour application allowed Sussex Asphalte to work safely and with minimal disruption to employees and members of the public.

Additional Information:

The oldest independent brewery in Sussex, Harvey’s Brewery dates back over 200 years and remains in the Harvey family after eight generations. With its impressive Victorian Gothic tower a famous Lewes landmark, the brewery has been adapted over the past 150 years to house a modern brewing plant whilst still producing beer made in the traditional way.
