Project Description

Installation:

Cold Applied Liquids

Description:

Built in 1935, the Eastbourne Bandstand was set to undergo a major restoration following decades of cold winters and salt air corrosion. With the works to be carried out during one of the wettest winters on record, a fast-applied waterproofing solution was required for 30 linear metres of guttering.

Sussex Asphalte installed a cold-applied waterproofing solution from Proteus Waterproofing to offer speed, minimal disruption and long term performance. Durability Pro-Hydrobond offers a 10 or 15-year life expectancy dependent on the specification. Waterproof, UV resistant and seamless, it is resistant to diluted acids and alkalis, oil, petrol, diesel and vegetable oils.

Utilising the system’s ability to self-terminate onto the ceramic abutment tiles, the application by Sussex Asphalte delivered an attractive and seamless aesthetic in line with the main refurbishment.

Additional Information:

Chosen for its speed of application and 30 minute cure time, even at temperatures as low as -5°C, the complete Proteus Hydrobond system was installed by Sussex Asphalte in just one and a half working days.
